We have added a free pattern called the  Cutie Pootie Purse Pattern to our website.  This bag pattern is easy to make and has full instructions, illustrations, and even the flap pattern in PDF format so it is easy to print and use to cut your fabric!  It also features a convertible handle - use as a hands free hip bag or double up the straps and use as a shoulder bag.

Purse Pattern Designers at the Quilt Market

It was amazing the number of new purse pattern designers that were at the Quilt Market in Minneapolis this past weekend!  We got to meet Tiffany of Tiny Seamstress Designs as well as Tina Givens (her fabric is to die for!).  These 2 talented ladies blogs are listed to the right - make sure you check them out!  We will be adding their new purse patterns to our PursePatterns.com site as soon as possible.

In addition to new faces, we got to visit with other pattern designers that we know including Cindy Taylor Oates of Taylor Made Designs (a new purse pattern booklet has just been released) and Kat of StudioKat Designs.  Instead of a photograph with Kat, I opted instead to have a picture taken with her adorable husband - he's such a charmer!!

Margo Handbag Pattern by Lazy Girl Designs

The Margo Handbag Pattern is here and, boy is it ever cute (and practical)!  This bag pattern is just the right size (not too big and not too small) and it has something that I really need lately in a bag pattern - a secure top zipper.  I don't know about you but, when I am in a hurry, I tend to throw my handbag on the passenger seat next to me and often my smaller items jump out of my bag and scatter throughout the car (especially under the seat in a hard to reach spot!).

The Margo also has 2 outer front pockets to stash my "to do" list, receipts, etc. for easy access and it also has lots of organizational pockets inside.  I also like the fact that it has double handles that are long enough to carry on my shoulder - keeping my hands free for multi-tasking!

The instructions are very well done, there are lots of them, and they are in color, which I find helpful.

Check out the latest bag from Lazy Girl Designs - the Margo Handbag Pattern is definitely a winner!

Quilt Woman Bag Patterns

Nancy Dill is the owner of QuiltWoman.com and has been sewing since she was a child.  After attending a quilt show, she decided that she wanted to design and teach quilting so Nancy started making her own patterns.

She has lots of help from a talented (and dedicated!) staff and they have expanded the business by offering help for independent purse pattern (and quilt) designers with marketing, pattern writing, and other services that a designer just starting out may have questions about.

PursePatterns.com has just added 10 Quilt Woman bag patterns to our site, including The Cube Purse Pattern and the Snap & Go Bag.  In addition, we have added a quilted handbag designer carried by QuiltWoman.com named Kathleen Willis who is obviously as crazy about pockets in a purse as I am!  Her series of bags are called "Pockets Are A Girl's Best Friend" and, boy, do I ever agree!  Her 2 quilted bags are Sweet Pea, and 7 Pocket Wonder.

They also have some free patterns on their site and here is the link to their Wheelchair tote pattern in PDF format.
